Welcome to the Devolution Learning platform, where you can find learning on all things devolution and intergovernmental working. Whether you are completely new to devolution, or already experienced in intergovernmental working, there is learning for everyone.

This platform is part of the devolution capability programme – Devolution and You - a cross-Civil Service programme to increase understanding of devolution to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for Civil Servants across all parts of the UK.
Mae’r platfform hwn yn rhan o’r rhaglen gallu datganoli – Datganoli a Tithau – rhaglen ar draws y Gwasanaeth Sifil i gynyddu dealltwriaeth Gweision Sifil ym mhob rhan o’r DU o ddatganoli i Gymru, yr Alban a Gogledd Iwerddon.
What is devolution? The UK Parliament has granted different, specified sets of powers to legislate and develop policies to institutions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, where the devolved governments exercise executive powers and are scrutinised by the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd Cymru / the Welsh Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly. The UK Government has also devolved powers and responsibilities to mayors within England, local authorities and the London Assembly, which are directly elected.
Beth yw datganoli? Mae Senedd y DU wedi rhoi setiau o bwerau gwahanol a phenodedig i ddeddfu a datblygu polisïau i sefydliadau yng Nghymru, yr Alban a Gogledd Iwerddon, lle mae’r llywodraethau datganoledig yn defnyddio pwerau gweithredol ac yn cael eu craffu gan Senedd yr Alban, Senedd Cymru a Chynulliad Gogledd Iwerddon. Mae Llywodraeth y DU hefyd wedi datganoli pwerau a chyfrifoldebau i feiri yn Lloegr, awdurdodau lleol a Chynulliad Llundain, sy’n cael eu hethol yn uniongyrchol.
Understanding devolution helps you do your work today. These skills will also help you develop your career in the Civil Service by broadening your understanding and awareness of the UK’s governance.
